Letters from a little sister
To the greatest of all time.
Thank you for changing my life forever. Where I’d be without you? I’m not quite sure.
On a Sunny day in 2016, before you really even knew me, you carried my heart in your hand. Drove me across the Country and gave me the biggest opportunity I’ve ever had.
I know times fades, seasons change, and my trauma remains but you remind me to be patient with myself. You remind me that everything I need, is already here inside of me.
Sisterhood means everything to me. It’s what kept my Grandmothers lonely heart standing in her sisters honor. She named me after her. I am literally a standing example of my Grandmothers love for her sister and I would have it no other way.
My sister, we are forever divinely connected. You can never get rid of me lol. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for teaching me! Thank you for listening to me! Thank you for just being you! Thank you.
To sisterhood.
I had a dream we were just living in our divine spirits
You. Vibrant. Pink
Everything that is divine and feminine
Me following your lead in the darkness
A soft yellow.
Everything that is curious and whimsical.
Still holding on to the childlike confides of my old flesh.
“Come along” you say
Without a thought my spirit sets sail
I do not ask where
For I know you will only lead my spirit to peace
And aimlessly
I follow behind
Taking in the sights around me
Smiling at the mountain top
Holding on to heaven as we reach it and my anxiety fills all the parts of me that once held courage
I hear you say “chillllll”
And I remember
That my spirit must not be consumed with the confides of my flesh
We were in the spirit world
And still my sister,
You remind me that the sun does not have anxiety about rising.
She just does.
